The Superintendent shall report the number and nature of the cases admitted during the previous twenty-four hours. And with reference to cases of special interest, shall bring the particulars of such cases to the knowledge of the Colonial Surgeon and afford him the opportunity of inspecting the same. All cases of surgical operations performed or proposed to be performed by the Superintendent shall be brought by him to the knowledge of the Colonial Surgeon at the earliest convenient opportunity.
In consultation cases, the Superintendent shall not call in extramural medical assistance unknown to the Colonial Surgeon, who is the only proper consulting officer of this Hospital and who shall therefore be consulted in every instance with first opportunity.
The Superintendent shall report daily to the Colonial Surgeon on the occasion of his arriving at the Hospital any incident of interest or importance connected with the sick or the attendants, or the general administration of the Hospital that may have transpired during the previous twenty-four hours, so that the Colonial Surgeon may be fully cognizant of all that passes from day to day and thus be able to report to Government without delay when the necessity arises.

Sir,
I am certainly not in a position to sanction or suggest guidance for Dr. Wharry without giving that gentleman an opportunity of reaching me and of expressing an opinion on them.
Let him therefore report on them for my information.
